Founded by École Polytechnique, ENSTA Paris, Télécom Paris, Mines ParisTech, and Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2012, the SJTU-Paris Elite Institute of Technology (SPEIT) offers students a unique engineering program that combines pedagogical methods from France and China. On April 24, 2023, the presidents of the five founding institutions came together in Shanghai to celebrate SPEIT’s 10th anniversary. In addition, Institut Polytechnique de Paris and Shanghai Jiao Tong University signed an additional Memorandum of Understanding to extend the collaboration.

Institut Polytechnique de Paris (IP Paris) is organizing the second international conference REFLEXIONS, whose ambition is to become a reference academic and scientific forum, contributing to the understanding and resolution of issues related to climate change and more broadly to the sustainable transition. Brownian motion is associated with the idea of constant motion of particles on a liquid surface. However, a team involving researchers from the Hydrodynamics Laboratory (LadHyX*) has shown that in the presence of a cylindrical obstacle, an undisturbed zone is formed into which Brownian motion can send the particle. It is then temporarily trapped. This work is published in the journal Science Advances.
