On Thursday, June 25, 2026, Institut Polytechnique de Paris hosted the interuniversity final of the Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) competition. Safa Gharbi, a PhD candidate at the Laboratory of Physics of Interfaces and Thin Films (LPICM), won first prize, as well as the People's Choice Award and, new this year, the Middle Schoolers' Award. Linnéa Strandberg, a PhD candidate from Université Paris-Saclay, was awarded second prize.

On June 24, 2026, ENSTA and Institut Polytechnique de Paris inaugurated an air-sea testing pool on the engineering school's Brest campus. Particularly innovative in its design, it allows for the testing of cooperation between drones and marine observation systems, while eliminating the risks inherent to initial trials on the high seas. Co-funded by the State and local authorities, the facility addresses academic, industrial, civil, and national defense needs, as well as national sovereignty challenges.

Anne Tanguy is a professor at Ecole Polytechnique and a member of the Solid Mechanics Laboratory (LMS*). She was recruited with the support of the interdisciplinary center Materials for Society (M4S), as part of the STEP² project funded by the French National Research Agency (ANR)**. Solveig Aamlid is a Tenure-Track assistant professor recruited by École Polytechnique with the support of the interdisciplinary center Materials for Society (M4S)**, and a member of the Laboratory of Condensed Matter for Physics (PMC*). Her highly fundamental research focuses on the study and synthesis of materials known as high-entropy oxides, with a particular emphasis on the significant disorder they exhibit at the atomic scale. The researcher explores this specific characteristic, which exerts a major influence on the functionalities of these materials.

They will represent IP Paris at the interuniversity competition on June 25, 2026, where the audience will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite candidate.
