Four IP Paris Researchers win the ERC Consolidator Grant

The Institut Polytechnique de Paris is the academic institution that has the most researchers awarded with the European Research Council’ Consolidator Grant 2022 in France. With this grant, the four IP Paris researchers selected will pursue their promising projects to answer major societal challenges and support businesses : such as exploring fibrous materials as green alternative to fossil-based plastics or fight unemployment rates and unsatisfied job vacancies in developed countries by finding solutions to information frictions.

IP Paris is the most international university in France and 34th in the world – THE

The Institut Polytechnique de Paris has made a considerable progress in the “Most International Universities in the World” 2023 ranking of the Times Higher Education (THE), moving up from 43rd to 34th ahead of MIT and Harvard. It is the only French institution in the top 40, ahead of Sorbonne Université 72nd, PSL 73rd, Université Paris Cité 84th and Université Paris-Saclay 98th.

Le Figaro étudiant published its annual ranking of the best engineering schools in France in December 2022. Like last year, École Polytechnique ranks 1st, while Télécom Paris is 5th, ENSAE Paris 7th, ENSTA Paris 10th and Télécom SudParis 11th. This ranking highlights the excellence of Institut Polytechnique de Paris member schools in their fields of study, their attractiveness in France and internationally, and the employability of their graduates.

The Paris Saclay Cancer Cluster, winner of the "France 2030" Biocluster program

The Paris Saclay Cancer Cluster (PSCC), of which Institut Polytechnique de Paris is a founding member, is a winner of the "France 2030" Biocluster program. It will receive 80 to 100 million euros to bring together the best expertise in oncology and advance research and innovation in the fight against cancer. Notably, by accelerating industrial projects and maturing start-ups in this field, but also by supporting the realization of clinical trials through funding via calls for projects and by facilitating collaborations.

Three IP Paris researchers awarded with ERC Starting Grants

The ERC Starting has rewarded 408 scientific talents in Europe this year, including three researchers from Institut Polytechnique de Paris: Fabian Cadiz of the Condensed Matter Physics Laboratory, Adrien Leblanc of the Laboratoire d’Optique Appliquée and Félix Tropf of the Centre for Research in Economics and Statistics (CREST). This funding will allow them to build teams and launch projects in their fields of research.

The OCEAN project wins the ERC Synergy Grant

OCEAN (On IntelligenCE And Networks) project aims to develop a new learning methodology where learning is shared between different users, each retaining their autonomy and control over their data. The project is led respectively by Éric Moulines, École Polytechnique, Michael Jordan, UC Berkeley, Christian Robert, Université Paris Dauphine-PSL and Gareth Roberts of the University of Warwick.
