IP Paris PhD Students Winners of the 2025 Three-Minute Thesis Competition

A shining event
6 contestants: 5 women and 1 man from IP Paris, Université Paris-Saclay and Université-PSL competed in this thrilling scientific communication challenge.
Each delivered a brilliant presentation, confidently and humorously sharing their research in just three minutes, in English, and in language accessible to a non-specialist audience.
At the end of their presentations, both the audience and the jury voted for the most convincing 3MT based on the competition’s official criteria: scientific clarity, accessibility, public speaking skills, and precision.
🥇Winner & People’s Choice Award: Sooyong Chae, IP Paris PhD student from the LPICM* laboratory at École Polytechnique.
🥈Runner-Up: Ana-Maria Bratu, IP Paris PhD student from the LadHyX** laboratory at École Polytechnique.
👏Congratulations to all the contestants!
The Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) is more than a competition—it’s a platform for PhD students to strengthen their communication skills and share their research with a wider public, as jury members underlined:
- President of the Jury: Sylvaine Neveu – Vice-President for Corporate Partnerships, IP Paris
- Raquel Díaz López – Innovation Marketing Project Manager, SATT Paris-Saclay
- Alexey Tiranov – Researcher at ENSCP-PSL, Junior Professor at Université PSL

- Carol Bausor – Public speaking expert and MT180 coach, INSA Lyon
IP Paris is proud to have hosted the 2025 edition and hopes this event inspires more PhD students to take the stage in future editions, and a growing audience to join us for the finals!
