Fighting against harassment, discrimination and sexist or sexual violence (HDSSV)

Institut Polytechnique de Paris (IP Paris) is aware that, like all higher education and research institutions, no one is completely safe from discrimination or harassment. To raise awareness and provide fast, effective help to victims, the Institute has set up a number of actions and resources.
Fighting against harassment, discrimination and sexist or sexual violence (HDSSV)

IP Paris and its member schools are each signatories of the Conférence des Grandes Ecoles' Charter for Gender Equality.

The Charter affirms that equality between women and men is a fundamental right for all, and a fundamental value for democracy. It commits to action in three main areas:

  • Implementing gender equality
  • Raising student awareness of gender equality and gender issues
  • Developing a policy of upstream attractiveness, particularly among students.

Institut Polytechnique de Paris intends to make a voluntary and lasting commitment to the fight against HDSSV.

The gender equality representatives are in charge of implementing the gender equality action plan, as well as actions to prevent gender-based and sexual violence among students and staff :

  • Delphine Duprat, Head of Student Life at IP Paris. Contact
  • Carole Delamare, HR Officer for IP Paris. Contact

To help victims speak out and receive support, the following services have been set up:

  • A reporting platform soon available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, enabling the helpline to deal with all reports, including sexual and gender-based violence, harassment (moral or sexual) and all forms of discrimination.
  • A hotline for all forms of sexual and gender-based violence, harassment or discrimination.

An e-mail address dedicated to reports, testimonials or alerts on situations of violence, harassment or discrimination is at your disposal: cellule.ecoute@ip-paris.fr

All messages sent to this mailbox are read by the school's gender equality officers and anyone who requests anonymity is guaranteed.

The advisors are also bound by a duty of discretion and confidentiality.

The IP Paris health center's is also available to students at Institut Polytechnique de Paris to report : pole.sante@ip-paris.fr.

Like its member schools, IP Paris will be setting up an HDSSV reporting platform during the 2023-2024 academic year.

It will enable anyone to report any situation of harassment, discrimination or gender-based or sexual violence.

Any information submitted to this site may be anonymous and will be processed as quickly as possible.

Business card-sized bookmarks and flyers are also available to remind students of the different types of harassment and useful contacts for combating inappropriate behavior.

These two goodies are of course available in both French and English.

Institut Polytechnique de Paris also proposes posters to be displayed across campus to alert, raise awareness and inform about HDSSV situations.

Some are the creation and property of IP Paris, while others are taken from national campaigns launched by the French Ministry of Higher Education.

For the 2023-24 academic year, a range of actions are proposed on a variety of subjects and in a variety of formats: information conferences, training conferences, forum plays, etc...

Online training courses are also available for all audiences.

A training session on HDSSV is compulsory for all IP Paris' managers.
