Associations at Institut Polytechnique de Paris

The BDE (Bureau des élèves) at the Institut Polytechnique de Paris has a number of objectives

  • helping new students
  • to organise student events/parties/trips
  • and above all, to make your student life easier and happier.

The BDE IP Paris aims to

  • facilitate communication between students and schools
  • organise student life events and encourage student participation
  • welcome students new to IP Paris In short, create a sense of belonging for students!

The association was officially created on 19 September 2021.

At first, the BDE team didn't have all the board members, however, during the month of October, they managed to find more motivated people to join the team, and were able to have 18 board members as it is now.

The team has been working hard to give more fun and enjoyment to the Institute's students and help them feel closer to the school.

The BDE team offers a range of fun events for IP Paris students to get together: Barbecue Night, Museum Excursion, Movie Nights, Easter Meal, etc.

There are several ways of keeping in touch with the BDE:

  • The Linktree account, which brings together all the social media of the BDE team
  • The discord server for information, communication, finding new friends and having fun
  • Other social media accounts :

By following the social media accounts, students will also be informed of all the events organised. Contacting them couldn't be easier: just send them an email!

Among other things, the BDE IP Paris offers the IP Paris Buddy Program, which puts incoming students in touch with a buddy who has already been on campus for at least a year.

The aim is not only to create links, but also to share knowledge about life and studies in the IP Paris environment. Buddies will talk to each other online before classes start and stay in touch throughout the year.

You are invited to take part in this great adventure by sending an email.

You can also fill in this form.

One week after registering, you will be matched with a buddy who is likely to share some of your interests!

Who is BDD IP Paris?

The birth of the Ecole Polytechnique Doctoral Students' Association, under the name DocUnion, was made possible by the commitment of doctoral students concerned with defending the material and moral rights and interests of students, both collectively and individually. Today, this association is coming back to life, bringing together all the establishments of the Institut Polytechnique de Paris, all the doctoral students, who are united in the same association, which is now called the Bureau des Doctorants de l'Institut Polytechnique Paris - BDD IP Paris.

What do we do?

We are an open association made up exclusively of doctoral students. It is possible for students who wish to do so to get involved in the association and develop it alongside us.

Don't hesitate to join us to keep the association alive, to carry out projects, to obtain the tools to help you and to have a say in discussions within the doctoral school.

Our mission

  • To provide opportunities for you to meet and develop relationships between doctoral students from the various schools at Institut Polytechnique Paris.
  • To provide you with one-to-one help from experienced students on problems relating to your enrolment, administration and even your career prospects
  • To keep you informed of festive or professional events that might be of interest to you.

Associations within the IP Paris perimeter

Numerous inter-school student initiatives have prompted students from the Institute and its member schools to create associations within the IP Paris perimeter.

These associations are in the process of being set up, but the aim is to offer even more events and services to enhance the student life shared by all students on campus.

The Platal Ekiden and the ASTER Forum for Responsible Business are two examples of this.

Spearheaded by students from the Ecole Polytechnique, ENSTA Paris, ENSAE Paris, Télécom Paris and Télécom SudParis, the 5 leading engineering schools that are members of the Institut Polytechnique de Paris, the ASTER forum was built around two ideas

a social future
an ecological and responsible transition for tomorrow's world
ASTER's main activity is to organise an annual forum bringing together IP Paris students and socially and environmentally responsible companies, or those behind ecological innovations.

ASTER also organises occasional conferences and round tables on ecological themes, inviting alumni from the 5 schools.

Bringing together students from the 5 schools, the IP Paris Racing Team aims to take part in the Formula Student competition. This challenge brings together engineering schools and universities from all over Europe, with the aim of building the best-performing single-seater possible. Created in 2022, the association will present its first car in 2024, and will compete in the electric category in a bid to raise awareness of environmental issues.

The team is divided into 10 divisions, enabling different student profiles to contribute their skills to the project. This is a long-term project, with the single-seater being improved from year to year, and it aims to showcase the excellence of the schools at the Institut Polytechnique de Paris.

Would you like to start or resume dancing and get on stage?

All year round, Danse Paris Saclay offers weekly classes at all levels, taught by professionals in a wide range of styles: classical, contemporary, hip-hop and modern jazz.

The dancers can then present their choreographies at a friendly, festive annual show!

Danse Paris Saclay also organises Masterclasses, which are more intense, and discovery classes, which are more varied.

So if you'd like to get out and about while meeting other students and getting involved in dance, Danse Paris Saclay is the place for you!

Come and join us!

A call for funding for association projects or events at the Institut Polytechnique de Paris is launched at the start of the 2020 academic year.
