Charles Baroud, researcher and associate professor at the Hydrodynamics Laboratory* (LadHyX) at École polytechnique, Olivier Gossner, CNRS research director at the Center for Research in Economics and Statistics** (CREST) affiliate of the École polytechnique and Joris van der Hoeven, CNRS research director at the Computer Science Laboratory of the École Polytechnique *** (LIX), have had their projects selected by the European Research Council. All three have been awarded an ERC grant for 2024 in the Grants Advanced category. The mission of the European Research Council is to raise the level, dynamism and creativity of the European research system. Each year, it supports ambitious, high-quality research projects proposed by the researchers themselves.

The International Center for French Language and Culture of IP Paris launched in January 2024 its new MOOC "Comprendre la France, Advanced French Language and Culture", an advanced online course on French and Francophone cultures. Three months later, it's already a sucess.

On March 19, 2024, IP Paris' International Center for French Language and Culture organized an International Francophonie Day at École Polytechnique. This was an opportunity for international students to discover a special guest, French-Algerian writer Kamel Daoud, participate in workshops and present their work on the theme of "Diversity, climate and the French-speaking world".

Michèle Wigger, professor at Télécom Paris, has been awarded an ERC Consolidator grant for her project on the fundamental limits of sensing systems (FLoSS). The calculation of these theoretical limits is at the heart of Michèle Wigger's work at the Information Processing and Communications Laboratory (LTCI*). The purpose of her research is to help to understand and improve systems designed in practice, in particular for the Internet of Things or autonomous vehicles or robots.

Researcher at the Institut Interdisciplinaire de l'Innovation (I3-CRG* - Institut Polytechnique de Paris), Olivier Fournout has been investigating this field for 10 years. In particular, he has highlighted the links between Hollywood cinema and management manuals**. Today, Nicolas Girard-Michelotti's play Kenneth Apocalypse has emerged from this field of research. It highlights the place of artistic creation in science.

In his keynote speech on March 1, 2024 at the Paris-Saclay Summit - Choose Science, Thierry Coulhon, acting president of Institut Polytechnique de Paris, praised the success of the Plateau's science and technology cluster, before outlining the challenges and opportunities for excellence in France on an international scale.

Fausto Sirotti, CNRS Research Director at the Condensed Matter Physics Laboratory at École Polytechnique, was elected Chairman of the Academic Council of the Institut Polytechnique de Paris on February 28. He replaces Chantal Schültz, whose term of office had come to an end.
