Bpifrance and IP Paris Join Forces to Boost Deeptech Innovation

The launch event, held at Bpifrance’s Hub in Paris, brought together representatives from schools, researchers, entrepreneurs, and investors. The clear objective: strengthen the bridges between research labs and the market by supporting technological projects from the earliest stages.
"This partnership will help us better support, promote, and finance the start-ups we incubate daily," said Marie-Anne Lebrec, Director of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Projects at Télécom Paris.
IP Paris Leading the Deeptech Ecosystem
Among the eight partner schools, IP Paris stands out as a heavyweight in the Deeptech landscape. The institution counts 262 start-ups created, raising a combined €5.2 billion to date, according to Bpifrance’s Deeptech Observatory and Dealroom data. Through its incubators and research labs, IP Paris demonstrates a strong ability to turn scientific research into economic growth.
Structuring Support, Scaling Impact
The partnership is built around four main pillars:
Increasing the visibility of Deeptech entrepreneurship among students, researchers, and alumni,
Streamlining project support through better sharing of expertise, tools, and resources,
Implementing a structured follow-up of incubated start-ups to ease their access to Bpifrance's funding tools,
Building a coalition of committed schools to continuously improve support mechanisms and launch new initiatives.
For both IP Paris and Bpifrance, the goal is clear: strengthen national economic sovereignty by betting on French scientific innovation.
"Innovation has become a strategic imperative. It can only be driven through enhanced national and European cooperation," emphasized Thierry Coulhon, Chairman of the Executive Board at IP Paris.
