ENSTA welcomes Estelle Iacona as its new Director General

Estelle Iacona has been appointed Director General of ENSTA. She will officially take office on May 12, 2025. In this capacity, she will also join the Executive Board of the Institut Polytechnique de Paris, the governing body that brings together the leadership of the six member schools of the Institute.
ENSTA welcomes Estelle Iacona as its new Director General

A graduate of Polytech Nantes and a PhD holder from École Centrale Paris, Estelle Iacona is a university professor and a recognized expert in energy systems. She brings extensive leadership experience in higher education and research institutions.

From 2022 to 2024, she served as President of Université Paris-Saclay, where she played a pivotal role in shaping the institution and advancing major initiatives in education, research, and innovation.

A Strategic Asset for IP Paris

Her appointment aligns with the shared governance model driving the development of the Institut Polytechnique de Paris (IP Paris). As a member of the Executive Board, Estelle Iacona will help define and implement the collective strategic vision of the Institute’s six member schools: École Polytechnique, ENSTA, ENPC, ENSAE, Télécom Paris, and Télécom SudParis.

Following four years of ambitious collaborative work, the new ENSTA officially launched on January 1, 2025. Within IP Paris, ENSTA now leverages the combined strengths of its Paris-Saclay campus in Palaiseau and its Brest site to meet strategic challenges in key areas of national sovereignty, particularly in defense and security.
