Description
The “Civil Engineering” program is designed for students interested in various sectors of construction: buildings, public works, engineering structures, geotechnics, structures, marine works, energy structures, construction materials, etc.
The Civil Engineering program at Institut Polytechnique de Paris offers three master’s degrees: structures (“GCC”), geotechnics (“MSROE”), and materials (“MSSC/SMCD”). They share a common core first year (M1 “Civil Engineering and Construction”), which provides all the necessary foundations for civil engineering and construction: scientific (mechanics, physics, thermodynamics, etc.), technical (drawing, materials, etc.), and cultural. The first year is open to students who have not previously studied civil engineering.
In the second year, each master’s program allows students to specialize in its area of construction and enables them to quickly enter the workforce or continue on to a doctoral thesis.
The training program prepares students to work in all sectors of the construction industry (buildings, public works, geotechnics, structures, marine works, energy structures, materials, etc.) and opens the door to a wide range of careers: project management, project supervision, design offices, construction companies, methods, research & development.
Masters
Objectives
This program aims to enable students to:
- Master all the scientific, technical, and cultural knowledge and skills necessary for a career in civil engineering and construction.
- Know how to design and build, adopting a comprehensive approach to projects, a high scientific level, and strong technical expertise.
- Know how to assess and reduce environmental impacts in the construction industry.
