WHY ENROLL IN THIS PROGRAM?

Asset n° 1

Prepare for a PhD

Asset n°2

Obtain experience with significant laboratory work

Asset n°3

Gain knowledge in molecular and cellular aspects of biology based on a multidisciplinary approach

This Master’s in Biology, Biotechnology and Health is dedicated to the molecular and cellular aspects of biology. It maintains a strong link between the reductive molecular and structural approaches and the more integrated approaches of cell biology, organism development and new therapeutic strategies.

The program is part of a multidisciplinary context: progress in Biology (observation, sequencing, synthesis of the genome, omic approaches) goes through dialog between disciplines (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer Science, Mechanics, etc.) and takes into account ethical questions concerning existing or potential biotechnological applications.

The program includes courses at the heart of biological concepts as well as courses at disciplinary interfaces. Internships in research laboratories strongly participate in the educational program.

This high-level education, which can be completed by a PhD thesis, leads to research and/or engineering in companies (Biotechnologies, Pharmas, Agrifood, etc.) or in teaching-research Universities. It can also serve as the scientific side of a double formation leading to the sectors of regulation in biotechnology, IP, funding and management of innovation or scientific communication.

This Master’s is associated with the PhD Track Bioengineering and Quantitative Life Sciences.

Objectives

This program aims to enable students to:

  • Acquire a wide-reaching, high-level understanding of molecular and cellular biology
  • Prepare for a PhD
  • Learn using a multidisciplinary approach

After completing the second year of the Master’s program, students will be able to:

  • Pursue a PhD
  • At the end of a PhD, work in industry in fields like biotechnologies, pharmaceutics and agri-food, or at a teaching-research university
  • With additional training, take up a position in biotechnology regulation, IP, innovation funding and management or scientific communication
