Description

The Research in Design program focuses on research practices specific to design. With a multidisciplinary approach, it explores key questions, strategies, and positioning in design research. This master’s program trains designer-researchers to analyze contemporary life through design and research projects. It offers a broad curriculum covering all areas of design.

The first year of this program focuses on building a strong foundation in research tools, methods, and concepts specific to design. The second year is dedicated to developing an individual research project, leading to both a written scientific production and an exhibited artifact or installation.

The master’s degree is jointly accredited by Université Paris-Saclay and the École Nationale Supérieure de Création Industrielle (ENSCI–Les Ateliers), with collaborations with companies, laboratories, and cultural institutions, depending on the project’s focus.
