A look back at the first IP Paris Winter School on Micro-architectural security
It was under a snowy weather that the IP Paris Winter School organizers, among which Maria Mushtaq and Ulrich Kühne, both Associate Professors at Télécom Paris, IP Paris, welcomed the attendees at the Fiap center in the heart of Paris.
The 37 participants, including doctoral students and industrials, came from all over the world to attend the presentations of 11 international speakers, all at the forefront of their field.
During 4 days, the participants attended academic and industrial lectures on attacks, especially side-channel attacks, and software and hardware countermeasure techniques. They also had the opportunity to experiment some tutorial sessions.
A high-flying course punctuated by more convivial moments: participants and speakers were able to exchange in a more informal way during a cocktail party on the first day and a dinner-cruise on the Parisian Bateaux-mouches on Thursday evening.
The school ended with a poster session on Friday morning during which students were able to detail their thesis topic.
