Christopher Cripps will soon join the Institut Polytechnique de Paris as Vice-President for Europe and International Affairs. His mission: to contribute to making IP Paris a global benchmark for French scientific and technological excellence through a strategy developed with its five member schools. He will take his new position on 1st June.

This year the E4C Fall School will be about "Interdisciplinary Approaches for Future Smart Grids: Use Cases, Methodologies, and Technologies." Over one week from 7th to 11th October 2024, participants will immerse themselves in a comprehensive exploration of interdisciplinary approaches for future Smart Grids.

On Thursday 25th April, IP Paris International Centre for French Language and Culture celebrated at the Panthéon in Paris the winners of its 'Nouvelles Avancées' competition, which aims to bridge the gap between science and literature. Institut Polytechnique de Paris and Polytechnique Montreal signed a strategic agreement in Montreal on Friday, April 12, strengthening their collaboration in research, education, innovation and entrepreneurship. The agreement was signed as part of the 21st Rencontre Alternée des Premiers ministres français et québécois (RAPM), (Alternate Meeting of the French and Quebec Prime Ministers).

Conducted among Danish citizens, a study led by a team of researchers based in Denmark, Canada, and France, within the Technology for Change Research Chair at the Institut Polytechnique de Paris, explores whether citizens will resist the use of drones, and elucidates the factors to address to deploy drones for health purposes. This work is published in the journal Drone Systems and Applications[1].

Charles Baroud, from Hydrodynamics Laboratory (LadHyX), Olivier Gossner, from Center for Research in Economics and Statistics (CREST) ​​and Joris van der Hoeven, from Computer Science Laboratory of the École Polytechnique (LIX) , saw their projects selected by the European Research Council. All three received an ERC grant for the year 2024 in the Advanced Grants category. The European Research Council's mission is to raise the level, dynamism and creativity of the European research system. Each year, it supports ambitious and very high quality research projects, proposed by the researchers themselves.

The International Center for French Language and Culture of IP Paris launched in January 2024 its new MOOC "Comprendre la France, Advanced French Language and Culture", an advanced online course on French and Francophone cultures. Three months later, it's already a sucess.
