IP Paris and Polytechnique Montreal signed strategic partnership agreement
IP Paris and Polytechnique Montreal signed a strategic partnership agreement as part of the Alternate Meeting of the French and Quebec Prime Ministers, with Gabriel Attal and François Legault, which took place from April 10 to 12.
Thierry Coulhon, Acting President of Institut Polytechnique de Paris, who was part of the delegation formed under the aegis of the Prime Minister's office, initialed the framework agreement on Friday April 12, alongside Maud Cohen, President of Polytechnique Montreal. Sylvie Retailleau, French Minister of Higher Education and Research, was also present.
"We are very proud of the strategic partnership signed on Friday between Institut Polytechnique de Paris and Polytechnique Montreal, which seals the links between our two institutions in terms of education, research, innovation and entrepreneurship. On both sides of the Atlantic Ocean, our two institutions are working together at the highest level to address major societal challenges", commented Thierry Coulhon after the signing.
Under the five-year agreement, the two institutions will collaborate in the fields of science, engineering and management. The list is not exhaustive.
"I am delighted that Polytechnique Montreal and Institut Polytechnique de Paris, with whom we have a long-standing relationship, are extending their academic and research collaboration. This partnership in the fields of science, engineering and management will have fruitful results for our respective communities. The knowledge and expertise generated by this strategic partnership will help us address society's needs and the challenges of an ever-changing world," added Maud Cohen.
IP Paris and Polytechnique Montreal also intend to promote exchanges of students, researchers and post-doctoral students, as well as highlight scientific publications, and develop collaborations between teachers through joint academic programs.
Established in 1977, the RAPM aims to strengthen Franco-Quebec relations, particularly in the economic, social, environmental and cultural fields.
