IP Paris wins the "ExcellenceS" call for projects
The €800 million "ExcellenceS" call for projects aims to support ambitious transformation projects of higher education institutions to help them achieve the best international standards through the implementation of the strategy they have chosen.
"We are very pleased to have won this call for projects, which further reinforces the scientific excellence of Institut Polytechnique de Paris and will be a major boost to its overall development, allowing to amplify the research led by our four interdisciplinary centers and strengthen our innovation strategy. The actions selected in the "ExcellenceS" call for projects illustrate IP Paris' collective commitment to the major scientific, economic and societal issues that are driving our work in each of our core missions," said Eric Labaye, President of Institut Polytechnique de Paris.
With the STeP2 project, IP Paris has won the fourth largest grant (€27,941,760) in the second wave of the call for projects and plans to build an integrated and socially responsible science and technology institute to address the scientific, economic and social needs of society. It will focus on the development of innovation and on research areas with a significant global impact: health engineering, new materials, digital technologies and energy for climate.
Created just three years ago, IP Paris is growing rapidly and has already established itself as a world-class science and technology institute thanks to its high-level training, its cutting-edge research (4 interdisciplinary centers created in the domains of Health, Defense, AI and Climate) and an ecosystem that fosters innovation and entrepreneurship. This achievement is both a recognition of the work accomplished since its creation and a key step in the development of IP Paris.
The funds will support the creation of attractive research-based academic programs, from undergraduate to PhD level to draw high potential students. They will also enable the deployment of an international strategy to consolidate the visibility and attractiveness of IP Paris, in line with the institution's overall strategy.
