Sylvie Méléard, Professor at the Centre for Applied Mathematics of Ecole Polytechnique – IP Paris and member of the Institut Universitaire de France, will develop a project called SINGER. It studies mathematically specific evolutionary dynamics of cell populations, mainly using stochastic models. Her project was notably selected by the ERC as one of the five project highlights among 253 top researchers.

Gaël Richard, Professor at Télécom Paris – IP Paris and executive director of Hi! Paris, the Center on Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence of IP Paris, will work on a project on machine listening and more specifically on artificial intelligence for sound.

About the ERC Advanced Grant:

ERC grants are awarded through open competition to projects headed by starting and established researchers, irrespective of their origins, who are working or moving to work in Europe. The sole criterion for selection is scientific excellence. The aim is to recognize the best ideas, and confer status and visibility on the best brains in Europe, while also attracting talent from abroad.
