One day, two events. The EuroTech Alliance, a strategic partnership of six leading science and technology universities, including the Institut Polytechnique de Paris, is organizing two conferences on Tuesday June 4, in Brussels and online.

The first, entitled "EU-UA Developing excellent research and talent together", will take place in the morning, focusing on two priorities "Capacities for Science and Higher Education" and "Green Transition" of the innovation agenda adopted in July 2023 by European and African leaders.

This program is intended to be the cornerstone of cooperation in science, technology and innovation between Africa and Europe over the next decade. It aims to increase innovation capacities and translate the achievements of European and African researchers and innovators into tangible results, such as products, services, businesses and jobs.

Researchers, teachers and representatives from African and European countries, including Morocco, the Central African Republic, Germany and Denmark, will take part in round-table discussions to identify the most pressing needs and create synergies within the research and innovation ecosystems of African and European countries. They will also present current collaborative initiatives.

The second conference, " Closing the loop – building resilient water systems in the context of climate change ", will focus on Tuesday afternoon on ways to protect our water supply systems from the threats posed primarily by climate change.

The program will include speeches by experts and researchers from a variety of sectors, round-table discussions and the presentation of innovative R&D projects addressing some of the most pressing challenges. All of which will give the audience an insight into the current state of research and how it is evolving.

This second conference is partner of EU Green Week 2024, dedicated to water resilience.

Both events will also be livestreamed.

Three Young Researchers Honored

During this event, three young researchers will also be awarded the EuroTech Future Award 2024, a distinction recognizing outstanding early-career researchers contributing to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

This award is jointly presented by the six EuroTech Universities : Institut Polytechnique de Paris, Technical University of Denmark (DTU), École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), Technical University of Munich (TUM), and the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology.

Within the EuroTech Alliance, these six leading science and technology universities are developing ambitious research projects at a European level in priority areas such as artificial intelligence, sustainability, health, or bioengineering.
