Three IP Paris researchers awarded with ERC Starting Grants

22 Nov. 2022
The ERC Starting has rewarded 408 scientific talents in Europe this year, including three researchers from Institut Polytechnique de Paris: Fabian Cadiz of the Condensed Matter Physics Laboratory, Adrien Leblanc of the Laboratoire d’Optique Appliquée and Félix Tropf of the Centre for Research in Economics and Statistics (CREST). This funding will allow them to build teams and launch projects in their fields of research.
Three IP Paris researchers awarded with ERC Starting Grants

Fabian Cadiz, a researcher at the Laboratory of Condensed Matter for Physics, has been awarded a Starting Grant from the European Research Council for OneSpin, a project on two-dimensional semiconductors.

Generate an intense electromagnetic field using a relativistic plasma mirror, in order to collide it with electrons: this is the ambition of the EXAFIELD project of Adrien Leblanc, CNRS researcher at the Laboratoire d’Optique Appliquée (Laboratory of Applied Optics, LOA), funded by an Starting Grant from the European Research Council.

How much of the inequalities in our wealth, health, and family planning can we explain with our current statistical models and data? This is one of the questions that Felix Tropf, Assistant Professor at the Centre for Research in Economics and Statistics (CREST) wishes to answer with his FINDME project, funded by a Starting Grant from the European Research Council.
