WHY ENROLL IN THIS PROGRAM?
Asset n° 1
Capitalize on the expertise of the Institut Polytechnique de Paris in mathematics
Asset n°2
Benefit from thorough research supervision provided by Institut Polytechnique de Paris teachers and researchers
Asset n°3
Open the door to many career opportunities in a variety of sectors
Mathematical modelling makes it possible to solve problems in various fields (e.g. physics, biology and economics) through mathematical analysis and the numerical simulation of proposed models.
Objectives
At the end of the Master’s degree, students will be familiar with:
- Theory of partial differential equations, numerical discretization and error analysis
- Continuous and discrete optimization, variation calculation and game theory
- Theory of control in finite or infinite dimension, optimal control and inverse problems
- Analysis, simulation and modelling tools used in life sciences
- Scientific computing, parallel computing and computer-aided design
Students will also have acquired knowledge in various application fields including computer science, biology, physics, mechanics and economics.
This second-year Master’s program trains high-level researchers in applied mathematics looking to pursue a career in:
- Higher education and research
- High-tech programs in industry
- Study and decision-making headquarters of large companies
- Industrial design offices or scientific computing service companies as a mathematician or engineer
