The importance of financial markets and their impact on the global economy has been growing for more than forty years. This phenomenon is closely linked to deregulation that began in the early 1970s, in particular through the emergence of floating exchange rates. This expansion could not have taken place without the parallel development of a financial risk industry. Many insurance policies come to the rescue of industrialists, governments, investors to protect their activity or investments against contrary market movements.

Objectives

This program allows students to:

  • Benefit from high-level learning in the field of mathematical finance covering market finance (in particular derivatives), in-depth interest rate research, energy markets, market risk analysis and management
  • Meet the new needs created by changes in the financial markets and the increasing complexity of the mathematical tools used, whether probabilistic, statistical or numerical

Graduates of the Probability and Finance Master’s program will be equipped to pursue a career in the financial services of top companies or in consulting.
