On 3 April, the Mechanical Division of the Institut Polytechnique de Paris hosted a workshop dedicated to additive fabrication for repairs. The event brought together more than 80 participants from industry and academia, 25 companies and 8 laboratories.

Élisabeth Crépon is Vice President for Education and Student Life at the Institut Polytechnique de Paris since May 12, 2025. Her appointment reflects a clear ambition: to make the student experience a powerful driver of academic excellence and international visibility for the Institute, both in France and beyond.

Estelle Iacona has been appointed Director General of ENSTA. She will officially take office on May 12, 2025. Bpifrance and Institut Polytechnique de Paris (IP Paris) are stepping up their commitment to breakthrough innovation. On April 22, alongside seven other top Grandes Écoles, the two institutions signed a partnership aimed at accelerating the emergence and growth of Deeptech start-ups born from academic research. This year's final of the Swarm Rescue Challenge took place on 19 and 31 March. Organised by the Interdisciplinary Centre for Defence and Security Studies (CIEDS) of the Institut Polytechnique de Paris (IP Paris) with the French Defence Innovation Agency (AID) and the Indian Defence R&D Organisation (DRDO), the Swarm Rescue Challenge is a Python programming competition. Its aim is to stimulate students' interest in defence and security issues, with a particular focus on strategies for navigation, exploration and coordination between agents.

Institut Polytechnique de Paris is delighted to host an interuniversity version of the Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) competition. The final will take place on Tuesday June 10, 2025 at Telecom Paris. This scientific mediation event enables doctoral students from participating institutions to present their research work in just three minutes, in English, in a language accessible to the non-specialist audience.

As a result of malformations or genetic diseases, some children experience a distraction - an elongation - of the mandible. Jean Boisson, a teacher-researcher at ENSTA's Laboratoire de Mécanique et ses Interfaces (LMI*), is using his expertise in mechanics and magnetic systems to develop mandibular distractors that are more precise and less painful than existing devices.
