WHY ENROLL IN THIS PROGRAM?

Asset n° 1

Pursue a career in academic or industrial research

Asset n°2

Conduct a multidisciplinary research project

Asset n°3

Gain knowledge about current research and key industrial applications through dedicated seminars

This second-year Master’s program offers advanced training in information theory, source coding, signal processing for multimedia, networking, and multimedia security. An important part of the program is devoted to optimizing network architecture and protocols for the delivery of audio-visual content.

Many of the courses are taught through labs to make theoretical notions more concrete, while a multidisciplinary research project helps prepare students for subsequent research work. Students will also follow seminars on current research and key industrial applications.

Objectives

This Master’s program aims to:

  • Train students on topics associated with compressing multimedia content, transmitting compressed data through a network, and developing algorithms and network architectures for a fast, reliable, and efficient access to multimedia content
  • Provide students with basic training in information theory, source coding, signal processing for multimedia, networking, and multimedia security
  • Focus on optimizing network architecture and protocols for delivering audio-visual content

After graduation, students will be equipped to:

  • Pursue a career in an academic or industrial research laboratory working on multimedia signal processing, source coding, or networking
  • Work for content providers, telecom operators, regulators or companies specialized in multimedia engineering

Course details will be available when admission opens.
