WHY ENROLL IN THIS PROGRAM?
Asset n° 1
Acquire the interdisciplinary theoretical and practical skills required both in academia and industry to advance the design of complex software for cyber-physical and autonomous systems.
Asset n°2
Acquire firsthand research experience working on individual projects under the guidance of the researchers from the Institut Polytechnique de Paris.
Asset n°3
Obtain a Master's degree required for R&D positions in various sectors (aerospace, automotive, robotics, and manufacturing).
Our society relies more and more on complex software systems for different aspects of our lives, such as transportation (e.g., airplanes), health (e.g., insulin pumps), and infrastructure (e.g., smart electrical grids). The trend for the future is to adopt new autonomous systems, such as self-driving cars, drones, and robots.
The core aspects of such Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) are the interaction with the physical world and the communication with other systems. These aspects pose new challenges to design and implement reliable, secure, and performant software and require an interdisciplinary approach from Computer Science, Robotics, Embedded Systems, and Artificial Intelligence.
The main objective of the track is to train the researchers and professionals that will develop the next generation of complex autonomous systems.
The second year of the program allows the student to focus on specific topics (e.g., robotics, embedded systems, real-time systems) and to join a semester-long research internship (either in academia or industry).
Objectives
The program aims to:
- Develop the skills required to pursue a research career
- Provide advanced and research-oriented courses
- Provide practical experience through a research internship at one of the IP Paris laboratories
Students who successfully complete the 2-year program will be able to
- Work in the R&D department of companies from different sectors (e.g., aerospace, automotive, robotics, and manufacturing) and contribute to develop innovative and disruptive solutions.
- Pursue a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering in a highly ranked University
