CIEDS and CIMO calls for projects, 2026 projects: ‘Mobilise your research for the benefit of Defence and Security!’
With support from the French Defence innovation agency, CIEDS and CIMO are launching their new calls for projects starting in October 2026. The aim is to fund ambitious research projects in IP Paris laboratories targeting defence and security applications, which may be carried out in collaboration with academic or industrial partners.
Four researchers from the Institut Polytechnique de Paris awarded ERC Starting Grants
Vignesh Kannan from the Solid Mechanics Laboratory (LMS*, École Polytechnique), Thomas Debris-Alazard from the Computer Science Laboratory of the École Polytechnique (LIX*), Alejandro Alvarez Laguna from the Plasma Physics Laboratory (LPP*, École Polytechnique), and Anna Korba from the Center for Research in Economics and Statistics (CREST*, École Polytechnique/ENSAE Paris) have been awarded ERC grants for 2025 in the Starting Grant category. Their projects concern shape memory alloys, post-quantum cryptography, plasma propulsion, and statistical sampling.
