CIEDS - Interdisciplinary Centre for Defence and Security
An interdisciplinary centre conducting research, innovation and training activities for the Ministry of the Armed Forces, alongside the defence industry.
In a world where new technologies play a central role, particularly in the defence and security sectors, the Paris Institute of Technology (IP Paris) established CIEDS in 2021 to design and develop solutions to the technological needs of the defence sector. With strong support from the Ministry of the Armed Forces and the Defence Innovation Agency, CIEDS aims to promote research projects, innovation, and training activities within IP Paris, for the benefit of the Ministry of the Armed Forces and in collaboration with the defence industry.
Missions of CIEDS
In its central role of coordinating efforts and resources, CIEDS builds on IP Paris’s areas of scientific excellence in research, training, and innovation to:
- amplify the Institute’s impact in the defence and security sectors;
- develop high-value disruptive technologies for defence;
- foster a broad awareness of defence issues within IP Paris.
