Institut Polytechnique de Paris and Polytechnique Montreal signed a strategic agreement in Montreal on Friday, April 12, strengthening their collaboration in research, education, innovation and entrepreneurship. The agreement was signed as part of the 21st Rencontre Alternée des Premiers ministres français et québécois (RAPM), (Alternate Meeting of the French and Quebec Prime Ministers).

Drones in the Service of Health Logistics

Conducted among Danish citizens, a study led by a team of researchers based in Denmark, Canada, and France, within the Technology for Change Research Chair at the Institut Polytechnique de Paris, explores whether citizens will resist the use of drones, and elucidates the factors to address to deploy drones for health purposes. This work is published in the journal Drone Systems and Applications[1].

Three researchers from the Institut Polytechnique de Paris awarded ERC Advanced grants

Charles Baroud, researcher and associate professor at the Hydrodynamics Laboratory* (LadHyX) at École polytechnique, Olivier Gossner, CNRS research director at the Center for Research in Economics and Statistics** (CREST) affiliate of the École polytechnique and Joris van der Hoeven, CNRS research director at the Computer Science Laboratory of the École Polytechnique *** (LIX), have had their projects selected by the European Research Council. All three have been awarded an ERC grant for 2024 in the Grants Advanced category. The mission of the European Research Council is to raise the level, dynamism and creativity of the European research system. Each year, it supports ambitious, high-quality research projects proposed by the researchers themselves.

Michèle Wigger, professor at Télécom Paris, has been awarded an ERC Consolidator grant for her project on the fundamental limits of sensing systems (FLoSS). The calculation of these theoretical limits is at the heart of Michèle Wigger's work at the Information Processing and Communications Laboratory (LTCI*). The purpose of her research is to help to understand and improve systems designed in practice, in particular for the Internet of Things or autonomous vehicles or robots.
