The Mechanics Master Year 1 (M1) at the Institut Polytechnique de Paris offers students a high-level research-oriented program covering a wide range of scientific domains from fundamental to applied mechanics.The research areas cover smart structures, biomechanics, environmental sciences, complex fluids, turbulence, waves and metamaterials.

Objectives

This program enables students to:

  • Acquire general concepts in mechanics, as well as discover recent advanced research in various domains
  • Master fundamental knowledge and tools, before following a set of elective classes focusing on different specialized domains

To complete the Master’s degree, first-year students can enter the following second-year programs:

On completing the second year of the Master, graduates will be equipped for a variety of careers in academic and industrial research laboratories, or directly in advanced applicative domains like aerospace, biomedical engineering, energy and the environment.
