Angelo Pierangelo, a professor and researcher at Ecole Polytechnique, conducts research on Mueller polarimetric imaging at the Laboratory of Physics of Interfaces and Thin Films (LPICM*). This optical imaging technique uses light polarization to explore biological tissues beyond their surface. Through this highly promising process and with the help of innovative technology developed with his team, the scientist aims to improve the diagnosis of various pathologies while promoting new strategies for treatment and patient care. His work has applications in the detection of precancerous lesions of the cervix and in monitoring the regular progress of pregnancy.

On the Plateau de Saclay, the founding members of Quantum-Saclay are creating synergies between the various local quantum players. Among them, the Institut Polytechnique de Paris contributes to this dynamic thanks to the specificities of its schools in quantum physics and quantum information and communication. The establishment offers innovative research, cutting-edge training and a bridge between the academic and business worlds.

As a result of malformations or genetic diseases, some children experience a distraction - an elongation - of the mandible. Jean Boisson, a teacher-researcher at ENSTA's Laboratoire de Mécanique et ses Interfaces (LMI*), is using his expertise in mechanics and magnetic systems to develop mandibular distractors that are more precise and less painful than existing devices.
