[REFLEXIONS] Breaking down the barriers to energy sustainability

The necessary decarbonisation of the energy sector raises many challenges related to resources, conflicts of resources use and the environment. These issues will be at the heart of the round table on energy sustainability to be held during the Reflexions symposium, which is organised on February 5th by the Institut Polytechnique Paris. This round table will be chaired by Philippe Drobinski, Director of Research at the Dynamic Meteorology Laboratory (LMD*) and Director of the Energy 4 Climate (E4C) interdisciplinary center at IP Paris.

RNA and AI: Philippe Nghe's research at the frontiers of the origins of life and therapeutics

Philippe Nghe is a professor at the Structural Biology of the Cell Laboratory (BIOC) at École Polytechnique. He was recruited in September 2025 as part of the Tenure Track IP Paris program, within the interdisciplinary Engineering 4 Health center*. After exploring the role of ribonucleic acid (RNA) in the origins of life, the researcher will now delve deeper into the link between RNA sequences and their functions, particularly therapeutic ones. To do so, he will rely on artificial intelligence.

Clémence Badie: a specialist in thin-film materials for water electrolysis and hydrogen production

Clémence Badie has joined the Laboratory of Condensed Matter for Physics at École Polytechnique as a tenure-track assistant professor supported by the interdisciplinary Materials 4 Society center at IP Paris*. For five years, she will be able to conduct her research on thin film material deposits applied to electrochemistry, such as water electrolysis.
