The Interdisciplinary Centre for Defence and Security Studies at IP Paris is proud to announce the launch of the CIEDS website!

One year after the AI Action Summit, for which it organized the scientific days, Institut Polytechnique de Paris participated in the India AI Impact Summit in New Delhi from February 16 to 19, 2026.

In France, the government subsidizes renewable energy producers through calls for tenders. However, these allocation mechanisms are not without their flaws, which Laurent Lamy — a lecturer and researcher at the ENPC's International Center for Research on Environment and Development (CIRED*) — is studying. His goal is to help government agencies improve the rules for allocating subsidies.

Maxime Di Folco is a lecturer at the Information Processing and Communication Laboratory (LTCI*) at Télécom Paris. Recruited in December 2025 as part of the Tenure Track IP Paris program supported by the interdisciplinary Engineering for Health (E4H) center, he brings expertise in medical imaging processing. He will develop data processing methods for diagnostic purposes or to predict the progression of certain diseases, particularly in oncology and cardiology.

Born of more than ten years of interdisciplinary research, the start-up Plasana Medical is developing a medical device that uses a multi-jet cold plasma system to accelerate wound healing. This innovation stimulates the proliferation of skin cells, promotes the formation of new blood vessels and the production of collagen, offers high antimicrobial efficacy, and boosts the immune system. Intended for severe burns and chronic wounds, it is suited to both military and civilian applications. Plasana Medical has recently raised four million euros to accelerate the development of its device, enabling it to conduct clinical trials, a key step in the transfer of this technology into the medical field.

The Institut Polytechnique de Paris will be present at the third edition of the Paris Saclay Summit Choose Science, on February 18 and 19 at CentraleSupélec. A driving force in the fields of engineering sciences and disruptive technologies, anchored at the interface between science and society, IP Paris supports this unmissable scientific event, which is open to all and whose 2026 edition will focus on European cooperation.

A series of meetings designed to facilitate exchange between the Materials community and the Artificial Intelligence community, the internal workshop of the interdisciplinary center Materials for Society (M4S) are held on the third Tuesday of every month.

On January 13, 2026, the Interdisciplinary Center for Seas and Oceans (CIMO) hosted the first Seas and Oceans Forum at the Paris Polytechnic Institute. Nearly 30 speakers took the stage to present the interdisciplinary challenges bringing together academic, industrial, and institutional stakeholders in the maritime sector. The offshore wind turbines of 2030 will be floating, gigantic, and capable of producing tens of megawatts of electricity. Several technologies exist to keep these behemoths afloat. Among them are damping plates designed to reduce the vertical movements—known as pounding—that they undergo and improve their efficiency. Luc Pastur, associate professor at ENSTA's Laboratory of Mechanics and Interfaces (LMI*) and director of the Offwind program, is co-supervising a thesis aimed at studying the fluid dynamics around these plates.

Aref Einizade is a researcher at the SAMOVAR* at Télécom SudParis. After approximately three years as a postdoctoral researcher at the Information Processing and Communication Laboratory (LTCI**) at Télécom Paris, he recently joined SAMOVAR through Tenure Track funding supported by the interdisciplinary Engineering for Health (E4H) center at IP Paris***, as part of the DaTSHealth**** program. He will thus continue his work in machine learning, particularly in the modeling of complex graphs, with applications in neuroscience and the biomedical field.

One year after the AI Action Summit, and ahead of the upcoming international event, the “India AI Impact Summit” in New Delhi, Institut Polytechnique de Paris and Université PSL, together with HEC Paris, are joining forces to explore how French research is shaping the standards for innovative and responsible AI. “AI in Paris: One Year After the Summit — Building the Future” will bring together French scientists and decision-makers on Monday, February 9, in the afternoon at the Collège de France. The event will highlight the interdisciplinary approach that strengthens our ecosystems, with active participation from the AI clusters Hi! PARIS and PR[AI]RIE, as well as the AI and Society Institute.

Equity is an essential condition for combating climate change, says Céline Guivarch, professor at École Polytechnique. The theme will be discussed at the REFLEXIONS conference on energy transition, along with sustainability and security. Also a Research Director in climate change economics at the Centre International de Recherche sur l'Environnement et le Développement (CIRED*) at the École nationale des ponts et chaussées, the scientist will chair the roundtable on energy justice on February 5, 2026.
