VivaTech 2026: IP Paris brings together research, entrepreneurship and industry

25 Jun. 2026
From June 17 to 20, 2026, Institut Polytechnique de Paris (IP Paris) took part in the 10th edition of VivaTech, held at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles. This anniversary edition brought together 200,000 visitors, 4,500 exhibitors and more than 15,000 startups from 165 countries.
VivaTech 2026: IP Paris brings together research, entrepreneurship and industry

Over four days, IP Paris showcased initiatives from its innovation community, bringing together 27 startups supported by its 5 incubators, 3 interdisciplinary centers, its leadership team, industrial partners, researchers and students from its six member schools. This presence highlighted the connections between academic research, entrepreneurship and industrial collaborations through projects developed in key areas including artificial intelligence, healthcare, cybersecurity, energy, industry and environmental transition.

IP Paris startups meet investors and industry leaders

Startups supported by IP Paris incubators (X-UP, ENSTARTUPS, Ponts Alumni, Télécom Paris Incubator, IMT Starter) and members of the alumni community presented their solutions to visitors, investors, industrial partners and international stakeholders attending the event. Several of them received recognition during VivaTech.

Six IP Paris startups (GREEN-GRAPH, My Bubble Health, renOdit, Sonaid, Tinental and VENTURIX) were selected for VivaTech’s “Tech For Change” program, which highlights companies developing technological solutions combining environmental and social impact with sustainable business models.

Tinental, a startup specializing in energy optimization for industrial systems through artificial intelligence and IoT, won the Startup Germany Challenge final following the pitch delivered by its founder Elin Flyger.

Alizée Mesnard, founder of ShiftElec, was selected among the six finalists of the VivaTech Next Startupper Award. A graduate of Télécom SudParis, she is developing AI-based virtual sensors that enable industrial companies to better understand and optimize their electricity consumption. The startup previously received support from IP Paris’ Prematuration Call for Projects and is now supported by the IMT Starter incubator.

Several IP Paris startups were also recognized through partner challenges. Sonaid, founded by Hélène Jaffrelot and Nicolas Turpault, won the Orange Startup Challenge in the “Home Platform Experience” category for its sound detection technology applied to health and safety challenges.

My Bubble Health, founded by Manel Chikh, received an award at the Business O Féminin Awards 2026 in the Startup category and won the “Coup de cœur” award at the Women in Tech for Future competition organized by the CCI Paris Île-de-France for its contactless infant monitoring solution based on artificial intelligence.

Throughout the event, several corporate delegations, including EDF, TotalEnergies, Schneider Electric, WILCO Industry, the Metallurgical Industries Group (GIM), Société Générale, AXA and Sanofi, visited IP Paris to discover projects developed by entrepreneurs supported by the Institute.

New partnerships strengthening links between research and industry

VivaTech 2026 also featured several agreements aimed at strengthening scientific, academic and industrial collaborations at IP Paris.

Danone joined the IP Paris Connexion program in the presence of Antoine de Saint-Affrique, CEO of the group. As the first partner from the agri-food sector to join this program, Danone will draw on IP Paris’ scientific expertise, talent pool and innovation capabilities to develop joint projects around artificial intelligence, data science and technologies applied to healthcare, nutrition and consumer behavior analysis. These initiatives will notably build on the expertise of the interdisciplinary center Engineering for Health (E4H).

An agreement was also signed with French AI startup and unicorn AMI Labs (Advanced Machine Intelligence), in the presence of its founders Yann LeCun and Laurent Solly, to foster collaboration between academic research and the development of artificial intelligence systems. This partnership will rely on the expertise of the interdisciplinary center Hi! PARIS – AI for Science, Business & Society, supporting research projects, training initiatives and knowledge sharing in the field of AI.

On the academic side, IP Paris signed a strategic partnership agreement with École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS) Montréal on the Québec booth.

Interdisciplinary centers driving scientific discussions

IP Paris’ interdisciplinary centers contributed to discussions around major scientific and technological challenges.

Hi! PARIS presented several demonstrations focused on artificial intelligence and data science, while taking part in discussions on digital sovereignty, responsible innovation and AI applications. As part of this program, Fabien Séraidarian, Dean of École polytechnique, presented the new Executive Master in Artificial Intelligence offered by École polytechnique.

Energy4Climate (E4C) showcased its work on energy transition through demonstrators developed on the IP Paris campus, illustrating solutions tested under conditions close to real-world applications.

The E4H center also presented its role in supporting healthcare innovation, particularly through its LivingLab, a prototyping space dedicated to biomedical technologies. A round table highlighted the support provided to startup VAir, which is developing a portable respiratory analysis solution designed to facilitate diagnosis.

A space for institutional and entrepreneurial exchanges

The IP Paris space welcomed several institutional representatives who came to meet with teams, researchers and entrepreneurs.

Among them were Philippe Baptiste, Minister of Higher Education and Research, Jean-Luc Moullet, Director General for Research and Innovation, Bruno Bonnell, Secretary General for Investment, Mélody Tonolli, Deputy Mayor of Paris, Paul Midy, Member of Parliament for Essonne, and François Delattre, Ambassador of France to Germany.

The event also highlighted student entrepreneurship. Three Télécom Paris students, founders of startup Saména, met with Édouard Philippe, Mayor of Le Havre, at the Sorbonne University pavilion. The event also brought together several higher education leaders from the Paris region, including Thierry Coulhon, President of IP Paris, Camille Galap, President of Université Paris-Saclay, and Nathalie Drach-Temam, President of Sorbonne University.

In parallel, two learning expeditions enabled IP Paris stakeholders to discover other innovation-focused spaces at VivaTech. Leaders from IP Paris member schools visited the booths of Capgemini, TotalEnergies, BNP Paribas, L’Oréal and Bouygues. Students involved in entrepreneurial projects met with teams from Inria, La French Tech and France Deeptech.

Through this edition of VivaTech, IP Paris showcased an environment where research, education, entrepreneurship and industry come together to support the development of technologies addressing today’s challenges.
