Since June 19, IP Paris has been a member of the Udice alliance, whose ambition is to promote French higher education and research establishments in all their missions at national, European, and international levels.

Created in 2020 by ten universities, the association advocates excellence in research, performance in higher education, and the development of attractive innovation ecosystems.

"Joining Udice is part of a move to overcome the historical boundaries between universities and grandes écoles, by uniting our capacities to influence and our abilities to experiment with innovative courses of action. We are convinced that by broadening the diversity of Udice's member establishments, our adaptation to international standards could be enhanced, and Udice's visibility and impact increased," declares Thierry Coulhon, acting President of Institut Polytechnique de Paris.

IP Paris, which joins the alliance at the same time as the Université de Lorraine and the Université de Montpellier, strengthens Udice in terms of both impact and diversity. Its participation gives it greater weight in its actions to promote research, research-based training, innovation, and the link between science and society.

This integration also reflects the alliance's ambition to develop the French higher education and research system to meet contemporary challenges and simplify interactions between players.

The members of the group share the same vision of strong, autonomous, and active research universities for the benefit of a democratic and sustainable society; open and shared science for a better future; the education of tomorrow’s leaders; and innovation and audacity benefiting not only the academic community but also their regions and society in general.

The Udice alliance now has 13 members: IP Paris, Lyon 1, Aix-Marseille Université, Université de Bordeaux, Sorbonne Université, Université Paris-Saclay, PSL Université Paris, Université de Strasbourg, Université Grenoble Alpes, Université Côte d'Azur, Université Paris Cité, Université de Lorraine, and Université de Montpellier.
