Health and AI : NeuralTeks pushes the boundaries of diagnostics

29 Jan. 2025
NeuralTeks, a young gem incubated at the X Novation Center, the incubator of École Polytechnique (IP Paris), is revolutionizing the microbiological diagnostics sector with artificial intelligence. Founded in 2023, this promising start-up aims to transform laboratory analyses by making diagnostics faster, more reliable, and more accessible.
Health and AI : NeuralTeks pushes the boundaries of diagnostics

NeuralTeks was born from a concerning observation : microbiology laboratories face current processes that are often lengthy, costly, and improvable when it comes to rapid pathogen detection. Mehdi Nasreddine-Royer, the company’s co-founder and CEO, sums up the start-up’s objective : “To transform microbiological diagnostics by drastically reducing analysis times, from several days to just a few minutes.”

 A Scientific Collaboration

The creation of NeuralTeks is based on a key encounter : that of Mehdi with Dr. Souheil Hanoune, co-founder and CTO. Together, they have developed an innovative platform that relies on AI to provide cutting-edge diagnostic solutions to analysis laboratories. NeuralTeks' incubation within Paris Biotech Santé and the Drahi-X Novation Center of IP Paris is also playing a  role in its development.

“Being incubated at the X Novation Center gives us access to an exceptional network of experts, mentors, and technological resources. This environment fosters not only applied research but also collaborations with other start-ups and cutting-edge laboratories. This dynamic has enabled us to technically validate our solution and accelerate our commercial development,” explains Mehdi Nasreddine-Royer.

A Unique and Multimodal Solution

What sets NeuralTeks apart in the market is its multimodal diagnostic solution, accessible through an intuitive web interface. Its technology is based on two major innovations :

•    VISION, dedicated macroscopic and microscopic images analysis.
•    RAMAN, which combines AI and spectroscopy to detect pathogens in just a few minutes.

Unlike other players, our solution is scalable, independent of the equipment used for data collection, and based on active and rapid learning, enabling continuous improvement and complete coverage of microbiological analyses carried out in laboratories,” emphasizes Mehdi Nasreddine-Royer.

With this cutting-edge technology, NeuralTeks aims not only to improve the speed and efficiency of medical care but also to reduce contamination risks in critical sectors such as the pharmaceutical and food industries.

An Eco-Responsible and International Vision

NeuralTeks is also committed to an eco-responsible approach by offering solutions that are less resource-intensive and require less equipment than traditional methods.
And the start-up doesn’t stop there: it recently welcomed Delphine Garsuault, a PhD in biology, as COO, reinforcing its scientific expertise. Moreover, its integration into the prestigious Techstars’24 acceleration and support program marks a new step in its international development.

With a €2 million fundraising round in the pipeline, NeuralTeks is targeting strategic markets such as North America and Europe, consolidating its position as a key player in healthcare innovation.
