With these two new programmes, we are taking a further step by placing research at the heart of major challenges facing France and Europe: defence, competitiveness and technological sovereignty.
Capgemini and Hi! PARIS expand AI research partnership to address defence and technological sovereignty
How can artificial intelligence help address some of Europe's most pressing strategic challenges? This question lies at the heart of the next chapter in the partnership between Capgemini and Hi! PARIS. A founding sponsor of the centre since 2020, Capgemini is strengthening its commitment to bridging academic research and industry expertise.
Advancing AI research in defence and technological sovereignty
The first research programme will explore AI applications in defence, drawing on the expertise of École polytechnique and ENSTA, two member schools of IP Paris. Researchers will investigate embedded AI technologies enabling multiple drones and robots to operate collaboratively while remaining under human control.
The second programme, "Competitiveness & Sovereignty", led by HEC Paris, will examine how AI and data technologies are reshaping business competitiveness and strategic autonomy, with a particular focus on automation, outsourcing and technological dependencies.
These initiatives build on six years of collaboration during which Capgemini has supported Hi! PARIS across research, education and innovation, contributing to projects in intelligent robotics, mathematical optimisation and digital learning.
Recognised as an AI Cluster under the France 2030 initiative, Hi! PARIS continues to strengthen its position as an international centre of excellence, bringing together academic and industry partners to advance cutting-edge AI research and innovation.
