2026 Institut Polytechnique de Paris Cybersecurity and Defense Conference

05 Nov. 2026 - 05 Nov. 2026
For the second consecutive year, the Institut Polytechnique de Paris is bringing together key players in cybersecurity and defense from academia, government, and industry. Join us on November 5, 2026, at Télécom Paris (Palaiseau) for the IP Paris Cybersecurity and Defense Conference. The event is organized in partnership with the Interdisciplinary Defense and Security Center (CIEDS), supported by the French Ministry of Defense, the Defense Innovation Agency, as well as the IHEDN Cybersecurity and Digital Sovereignty Chair, affiliated with the High National Defense Studies Institute (IHEDN) through its Endowment Fund.

Abstract

We are currently experiencing two major revolutions: one driven by digital transformation and the other by geopolitical upheaval. The intersection of these dynamics is accelerating the emergence of new cyber threats exploited by hostile states and their affiliates.

Due to these challenges, it is essential to consider cybersecurity and the defense of national and European interests together. Institut Polytechnique de Paris Cybersecurity and Defense Conference aims to address this dual challenge by offering insights and solutions.

The conference's objectives

This event aims to bring together leading figures in cybersecurity and defense from the academic, institutional, and industrial sectors.

Together, they will share their insights and most advanced work to:

  • Tackle the major scientific, regulatory, and societal challenges of cybersecurity;
  • Showcase high-impact research results that enhance the security of critical infrastructure and citizens;
  • Provide valuable perspectives to guide public decision-makers;
  • Raise awareness among IP Paris students about issues of sovereignty and strategic autonomy, and encourage them to engage with cybersecurity in their academic journey.

Program

The rapid evolution of digital technologies, the emergence of new threats, and ongoing legal transformations demand that we strengthen and adapt data protection across all layers of digital systems — from hardware to applications.

This event seeks to explore these pressing cybersecurity challenges by bringing together experts from institutional, industrial, and academic spheres. Through a series of talks and a round table, speakers will offer a multidisciplinary perspective on the key contemporary issues surrounding data protection.

Organizers

Institut Polytechnique de Paris (IP Paris) is a public higher education and research institution comprising six prestigious French engineering Schools: École Polytechnique, École nationale des ponts et chaussée (ENPC), ENSTA Paris, ENSAE Paris, Télécom Paris and Télécom SudParis. Under the aegis of the Institute, they bring together two centuries of expertise to pursue two major goals: to develop world-class training programs and cutting edge research.https://www.ip-paris.fr/

Backed by the French Ministry of the Armed Forces and the Defense Innovation Agency, the CIEDS serves as the interdisciplinary defense center of the Institut Polytechnique de Paris. Since its launch in March 2021, the center has been dedicated to advancing high-impact, breakthrough technologies tailored to defense needs, while also fostering a deeper understanding of strategic challenges. Active across all six IP Paris schools, the CIEDS plays a cross-cutting role in research, education, and innovation. https://www.ip-paris.fr/en/cieds

The Cybersecurity and Digital Sovereignty Chair at IHEDN is part of France’s strategic effort to safeguard its digital sovereignty and national interests. It fosters multidisciplinary research that bridges engineering and the social sciences, with the goal of deepening understanding and informing policy on cybersecurity and sovereignty. The Chair plays an active role in shaping a national cybersecurity strategy that serves businesses, public authorities, and civil society. https://cyber-ihedn.fr/
