Master’s degree

DS4Health will design and deliver an international Master’s programme in digital health. It will address the key applications Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Data, Robotics, and Internet of Things. DS4Health will improve higher education for healthcare professionals in digital skills and deepen insight in design, use, and development of digital technologies to form a modern, ethically responsible, efficient and citizen-centred healthcare. The programme considers specifically soft skills, entrepreneurship and a citizen centred, application-driven co-design approach supporting to aim the digital agenda, and societal challenges. The DS4Health Master Programme seeks to leverage competences to advance science and technology by researching the implications of the advancement of digital health technology for patient engagement and care delivery, and will so serve as an incubator for evaluating and promoting digital health ideas and solutions for providers and patients in Europe.

Objectives

The DS4Health program has the following aims:

  • To give a broad overview and a deeper understanding of digital health, including the different types of solutions available, how they can be used, the obstacles to their successful implementation, and how patients in the EU will be impacted as digital health advances. 
  • To offer an international master's program in digital health with the goal of enhancing higher education and broadening the scope of advanced technology training available to future healthcare professionals, particularly in the realm of digital skills.
  • To bring the training of digital healthcare professionals to a higher level.
  • To increase the possibility for students to be trained in advanced technologies.
  • To provide students with essential support and resources to gain theoretical knowledge with digital skills to develop and incubate digital technologies for health. 
  • To equip students with an understanding of the application of artificial intelligence, wider informatics applications, and their application in healthcare. 
  • To provide students with the skills to critically evaluate the evidence of the effectiveness of new technologies in healthcare
  • To understand the role of digital health in reducing health inequalities and improving access to populations with access issues.
  • To comprehend the regulations, governance, and public acceptability of new technologies in healthcare.
  • To create a world leading, multiple locations training programme to specialize in digital for healthcare.

Upon finishing the master program, you will have the flexibility to make choices such as launching a successful career or seeking career advancement opportunities in the ICT or Healthcare industry. Additionally, you can explore career options in academia or other research and development organizations as a researcher. Potential career paths include roles like clinical information manager, informatics manager, UX designer, application and systems developer, data analyst, healthcare systems consultant, and health systems and services manager.

 

If you work in the health or medical field, this course will empower you to strategically position yourself to potentially influence policies while leveraging established and emerging technologies to enhance the quality and effectiveness of your work.

Academic prerequisites

Degree level

A bachelor’s degree (180 ECTS) is required to apply to the program.

All students must :

  • Have excellent academic records in fundamental computer science and healthcare

English language proficiency

In order for a student to be eligible to be recruited, a minimum of a B2 level in English is required, while a C1 level is recommended.
