Opening of the Guichet d’accueil des talents étrangers (GATE) at Paris-Saclay

Institut Polytechnique de Paris and its partners are pleased to announce the opening of the Foreign Talent Welcome Desk (GATE), a key initiative to support international students, researchers, and employees in settling in France.

A single location to simplify administrative procedures

Located within the University Library (Building 407, Orsay), GATE allows international members of the Paris-Saclay campus to complete all the main administrative and practical procedures necessary for their stay in France in one place.

Services offered at GATE

GATE brings together several partner institutions to provide a range of services:

  • Residence permits: Support for students and researchers in applying for residence permits.
  • France Travail: Registration, account creation, and assistance with job searches (CVs, cover letters, interview preparation).
  • Crous de Versailles: Information on Crous services, help with Izly cards, and application follow-up.
  • Île-de-France Transportation: Guidance on Imagine R and Navigo cards and public transport networks (RER, buses, etc.).
  • Science Accueil: Personalized support for Paris-Saclay campus residents (administrative procedures, taxes, bank accounts, French as a foreign language courses, cultural activities).
  • CAF: Information on housing benefits and application follow-up.
  • CPAM: Information and registration for social security, support with health-related procedures.
  • Université Paris-Saclay: Support for university students (housing, dining, health, sports, material and financial aid).
  • Institut Polytechnique de Paris: Specific support for IP Paris international community (residence permits, housing and dining, health, student life, and education).
  • Campus France: Information on settling in France, health procedures, and preventive measures.

Helping international students and researchers

Through GATE, Institut Polytechnique de Paris and its partners strengthen their commitment to welcoming foreign talent and contribute to the appeal of the Paris-Saclay campus. This unique initiative reflects a shared desire to provide a high-quality welcoming environment that promotes the integration and success of international members of the community.
