Probability and Finance
The objective of the Specialization Probability and Finance is to provide students with a high level of education in the field of mathematical finance. This covers all market finance, with a particular focus on derivatives, in-depth interest rate research, energy markets, market risk analysis and management. The architecture of the option is designed in this spirit, with a constant concern for a balance between theoretical and practical training. In the first half of the year, the option is structured around fundamental themes: Asset valuation and hedging, risk management, stochastic calculation, numerical methods, stochastic control, statistical finance, machine learning and deep learning, financial markets and regulation. The second semester is dedicated to specialization subjects: High frequency trading, energy markets, blockchain and cryptocurrencies, GPU and big data programming, stochastic algorithms, non-linear pricing, longevity… The course ends with a mandatory internship.
PhD track in Quantitative Finance: It is possible to combine courses from these options as well as some courses from the M2 Data Sciences for Artificial Intelligence.
Language of instruction: English and French
ECTS: 60 (lectures 8×5 ECTS, internship 20 ECTS)
Oriented: Industry and research
Duration: 1 year
Courses Location: IP Paris, Sorbonne Paris, Centrale-Supelec.
The objective of the M2 is to provide students with all the necessary mathematical and cultural tools to meet the new needs created by the development of financial markets and their evolution and the increasing complexity of the mathematical tools used, whether probabilistic, statistical or numerical in nature.
Theoretical training runs from the end of September to the end of March followed by a 6 months internship starting in April
- Completion of the 1st year of a master program (Master 1)
Deadlines for the Master application sessions are as follows:
– First session: February 28, 2020
– Second session: April 30, 2020
– Third Session (optional): June 30, 2020 (only if there are availabilities remaining after the 2 first sessions)
