On-campus food & snacks
If you are looking for a hot meal or just snacks, there are several places across the campus you can go.
CROUS- University restaurant
It offers balanced, high-quality, low-cost meals locally prepared with fresh products.
The “Coeur de blé” cafeteria at ENSTA
The cafeteria ” Coeur de blé “ on the ground floor of ENSTA Paris where it is possible to have breakfast or a lunch snacks: sandwiches, salads, pies, quiches, panini, hot dishes, desserts. The cafeteria is open from 8 am to 6 pm. You can pay in cash, by credit card, with your student badge or ISIC-monéo card.
The restaurant of Ecole Polytechnique “Le Magnan”
The restaurant of Ecole Polytechnique “Le Magnan” offers a traditional full and healthy food at a student rate. It is open Monday to Saturday and offers three meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner. Lunch is partially covered by ENSTA Paris and École Polytechnique. Payment can only be made with the student badge. To put credit on your student badge, a specific electronic machine is available at the Magnan. You can also recharge your student cart with cash or check at a cashier opened from Monday to Friday from 11:30 to 14:00 at the Magnan.
The restaurant of Télécom Paris
From November 4th, Télécom Paris restaurant will be accessible and will welcome all students and staff of IP Paris. It is located on the ground floor of the brand-new building.
The cafeteria of Télécom Paris
On the ground floor of the building, a cafeteria welcomes you from November for a snack. It is also possible to have lunch there.
Saffran – Cafeteria at École Polytechnique
It offers snacks that allows guests to enjoy a quick meal with a variety of sandwiches, panini and salads, or to have a coffee with a pastry.
The Cafeteria ENSAE Paris
On the ground floor of the building, the cafeteria offers the opportunity to eat quickly at lunch time and eat snacks during the day.
Vending machines in schools
Vending machines for confectionery, hot and cold drinks are also available on the school campus. You can pay in cash or with the ISIC-Moneo card.
Crous Food Truck
Two Crous Trucks Burgers and World Cuisine serve meals from Monday to Friday from 12:00 to 14:00. You will find the Crous Truck Burgers on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday in Cour Vaneau and Thursday and Friday on Cour Levy. You will find the Crous World Cuisine on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays in Cour Levy, and Thursday and Friday in Cour Vaneau.
On the campus, across from Telecom Paris, the Bakery Panifique offers the classic services of a bakery such as bread, pastries. It also sells snacks for lunch including sandwiches, salad, quiche, pizza and drinks.
Living Room- Restaurant
The Living Room is a French gastronomic restaurant offering meals for lunch and dinner. It is open every day from 12h to 14h and from 19h to 22h. It is located at 10 Boulevard Gaspard Monge, 91120 Palaiseau.
Campus Residences: To come
The association ensemble2générations offers inter-generational cohabitation for free or at a lower cost. You are hosted by a senior person in exchange for attendance at night and evening, services rendered or a small rent. Three formulas are proposed by the association according to your needs and availability:
- Free accommodation with the commitment to be present very regularly evening and night from dinner time. An annual fee of 390 euros is paid to the association
- The economic housing: the student is present regularly and renders some services, with a participation to the monthly expenses of the order of 100 euros. The contribution for ensemble2générations is 390 euros per year
- Solidarity housing leaves a lot of freedom for the student for his schedule, but does not exclude a certain conviviality and small spontaneous services. A monthly rent of about 280 to 400 euros and an annual fee for the association of 300 euros are expected. (Housing subsidies are available)
In addition to finding affordable housing , it is an opportunity to share a great experience with a senior person, in a spirit of mutual aid. The association supervises the cohabitation and ensures a regular follow-up. All information on the conditions of registration can be found on the website of the association.
Rent a private accommodation
The IP Paris Campus is located next to the city of Massy Palaiseau and around 35 minutes by public transport from the center of Paris.

Be vigilant and watch out for scams. Never provide your bank account numbers or copies of your identity papers directly via these sites or by email and never make payment of money via western union.
On the CAF website you will find details on the requests for housing assistance (personalized housing assistance – APL), the family housing allowance (ALF) or the social housing allowance (ALS)). Do not hesitate to go on their website and to make a simulation of what the amount of subsidies you could get.
Aid for obtaining a deposit
VISALE – Action Logement is an online system that replaces the guarantor or the personal surety. This system is “guarantor” for the future tenant. Action Logement aims at supporting young people and has developed support opportunities such as Mobili-Jeune or Loca-pass. Learn more on the VISALE website.
Supermarket & pharmacies
You will find a Franprix on campus. It is a french supermarket. In addition to major national brands, the supermarket sells more than 900 references under its own brand.
You will find on-campus pharmacy in which you can buy drugs with or without prescription.

Social Security – National Health Insurance
Please note that registration with a health insurance scheme is mandatory in France when you enroll at a Higher Education Institution. Registration is free of charge and will entitle you to reimbursement of your health care expenses.
Except for :
- Students coming from any of the 27 EU countries, Iceland, Lichtenstein, Norway or Switzerland who are already affiliated to a national health insurance provider, having the European health insurance card (EHIC). This card is free and will give you access to state-provided healthcare during your stay in France under the same conditions and at the same cost as nationals.
- Students from Quebec are exempted of affiliation to the social security upon presentation of Form #SE401Q106.
All the necessary steps to register you for social security purposes will be taken upon your arrival in France on ameli.fr
You can complete it with an extra health insurance (mutuelle) which is not compulsory, for a better medical coverage.
Subscription to a liability insurance is compulsory though.
Doctors & health centers
You can go to a city doctor or go to health centers that are open to all. You will consult family doctors or specialists. You will avoid advance fees with your “carte vitale” (or your EHIC).
