WHY ENROLL IN THIS PROGRAM?

Asset n° 1

Acquire the interdisciplinary theoretical and practical skills required both in academia and industry to advance the design of complex software for cyber-physical and autonomous systems

Asset n°2

Acquire the interdisciplinary theoretical and practical skills required both in academia and industry to advance the design of complex software for cyber-physical and autonomous systems

Asset n°3

Obtain a Master's degree required for R&D positions in various sectors (aerospace, automotive, robotics, and manufacturing)

Our society relies more and more on complex software systems for different aspects of our lives, such as transportation (e.g., airplanes), health (e.g., insulin pumps), and infrastructure (e.g., smart electrical grids). The trend for the future is to adopt new autonomous systems, such as self-driving cars, drones, and robots.

The core aspects of such Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) are the interaction with the physical world and the communication with other systems. These aspects pose new challenges to design and implement reliable, secure, and performant software and require an interdisciplinary approach from Computer Science, Robotics, Embedded Systems, and Artificial Intelligence.

The main objective of the track is to train the researchers and professionals that will develop the next generation of complex autonomous systems.

The first year of the program covers the essential skills to develop CPS as well as conducting research projects in the Institut Polytechnique de Paris laboratories.

Objectives

This Master’s program enables students to:

  • Develop the skills required to pursue a research career
  • Deepen their knowledge through advanced and research-oriented courses
  • Gain practical experience through a research internship at one of the IP Paris laboratories

To complete the Master’s degree, first-year students can enter the following second-year programs:

Students who successfully complete the 2-year program will be able to

  • Work in the R&D department of companies from different sectors (e.g., aerospace, automotive, robotics, and manufacturing) and contribute to develop innovative and disruptive solutions.
  • Pursue a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering in a highly ranked University
